Association Montessori Internationale
OUR CERTIFICATION
An international standard, still rare in French-speaking Switzerland.
The Association Montessori Internationale was founded by Maria Montessori herself. AMI recognition reflects a commitment to the complete Montessori approach, including educator training, authentic materials, prepared environments and uninterrupted learning cycles. Great Hope Montessori is fully committed to these principles.
6-12 YEARS
Starting with the child’s interests and teaching them the value of effort.
Students are welcomed into a bilingual environment with a French-speaking AMI educator and an English-speaking educator.
The Montessori curriculum includes the Plan d’études romand (PER), the official curriculum for French-speaking Switzerland. Montessori is a project-based approach that allows children to take an active role in their learning.
MONTESSORI IN ELEMENTARY

The educator sparks each child’s interest and curiosity, nurturing their joy and satisfaction in discovering and creating.

Students vote on and organise class outings. They take on responsibilities within the class community and lead debates every week.

Singing, theatre, sports, computing and German classes are offered every week.

Each lesson should engage the child and encourage them to practise the concept presented. A concept is understood when the child can apply it through projects and independent work.

More than English lessons: genuine bilingual immersion. Each classroom includes at least one native French-speaking educator and one native English-speaking educator, both present throughout the day. Children move naturally between the two languages.
