OUR EDUCATIONAL APPROACH

Learn
by
doing it ,
growing through respect.

Montessori is not a method — it's a way of looking at the child. At Great Hope, we apply it in its full AMI form, without compromise.

THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

Four principles that guide each day.

01

The suitable environment

Spaces designed for children, tailored to their size, with authentic materials. Everything has its place, everything has a purpose. The child chooses their activity and works at their own pace.

02

The prepared adult

Our educators are AMI certified — the global Montessori standard. They observe, guide without imposing, and support each child in what they are actually experiencing, not what is expected of them.

03

Sensitive periods

From 0 to 6 years old, the child goes through unique learning windows. Language, movement, order, meaning — we recognize them and give them all the space they need.

04

Freedom within the framework

Freedom to choose, to repeat, to make mistakes. A firm framework of respect — for oneself, others, and things. Autonomy is built in this patient fabric.

AMI

Association Montessori Internationale

OUR CERTIFICATION

The global benchmark
rare in French-speaking Switzerland.

AMI was founded by Maria Montessori herself. Only schools that respect the entirety of the pedagogy — teacher training, materials, environment, cycle duration — obtain recognition. We are fully committed to it.

MONTESSORI & NATURE

Observe,
explore.

Maria Montessori advocated education through direct contact with living things. In our school, this is a true daily extension: outdoor games, trips to the lake, observing the seasons, nature activities that make concrete what is experienced in the classroom.

Outdoor games every day, in our designated areas.

Regular outings to the lake and the immediate vicinity

Observing the seasons, living things, nature journals

Activities related to the garden, plants, and animals

NATIVE BILINGUALISM

French • English

Not 'English lessons' — real immersion. Each environment has at least one native French-speaking and one native English-speaking educator, present all day. Children switch naturally.
